If you are on a Basic Shopify Plan, you will need to enable Carrier-Calculated Shipping (CCS) in order to use the Onward App as a shipping method rate provider.

Carrier-Calculated Shipping (CCS), Shopify’s Carrier Service API, provides real-time shipping rates from carrier services like USPS and FedEx.

How to gain access to Carrier-Calculated Shipping (CCS)

There are several ways to gain access to Carrier-Calculated Shipping (CCS):

1. Add to Any Plan

• For a $20 monthly fee, you can add CCS to your Shopify plan

2. Upgrade Your Plan

• Access to CCS is included in the Advanced Shopify plan or any higher-tier plan

3. Switch to Annual Billing

• By switching your billing cycle to an annual payment, you can gain access to CCS without upgrading your plan

4. Create a Development Store

• For developers working on stores, development stores come with CCS enabled by default

After completing one of the steps above, you must contact Shopify to enable the feature:

1. Log in to your Shopify Admin.
2. Navigate to Settings > Support.
3. Reach out to Shopify Support and request the activation of the Carrier Service API or CCS.
